PRESENTATION OF THE REPORT ENTITLED “ANALYSIS OF THE PROCEDURES FOR THE ELECTION, ADVANCEMENT AND DETERMINATION OF RESPONSIBILITY OF PROSECUTORS IN MONTENEGRO IN THE PERIOD 2020-2021”  

Tomorrow, on Wednesday 24 November 2021, at the “CUE” Hotel (former Centre Ville) at 11 a.m., Action for Human Rights (HRA) will organise a round table to present a report on the work of the Prosecutorial Council entitled “Analysis of the Procedures for the Election, Advancement and Determination of Responsibility of Prosecutors in Montenegro in the period 2020-2021”.

The report was prepared as part of the Human Rights Action’s project “Strengthening Guarantees of the Independence of the Judiciary”, supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Belgrade.

The author of the report is attorney Veselin Radulović, and the editor is Tea Gorjanc Prelević, Executive Director of the Human Rights Action.

The debate on the report will be opened by:

Dritan Abazović, Vice President of the Government of Montenegro; Sergej Sekulović, Minister of Internal Affairs and head of the Ministry of Justice, Human and Minority Rights,

Jelena Djaletić, state prosecutor at the Supreme State Prosecutor’s Office; Aleksandar Momirov, senior advisor for the rule of law at the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands,

Gianandrea Villa, programme manager for the rule of law in the Delegation of the European Union to Montenegro; and Tea Gorjanc Prelevic, Executive Director of the organisation Human Rights Action.

The following former members of the Prosecutorial Council will take part in the debate: Duško Milanović, head of the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Cetinje and Nataša Radonjić, Acting General Manager of the Directorate for the Enforcement of Criminal Sanctions within the Ministry of Justice, Human and Minority Rights,

as well as the following current members: Boris Marić, State Secretary in the Ministry of Justice and Human and Minority Rights; Nikola Samardžić, state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Herceg Novi,

and Stevo Muk, candidate for member of the Prosecutorial Council proposed by NGOs and the competent parliamentary committee, as well as representatives of political parties and non-governmental organisations.

The meeting will proceed according to the attached agenda.
