Human Rights Action (HRA) sent a letter to the president of the Constitutional Court and the Minister of Justice in support of the initiative for the review of constitutionality of the Misdemeanor Act, submitted to the Constitutional Court on 25 October 2012 by the Center for Civic Education.
HRA appealed to the Ministry of Justice to initiate urgent law amendments, which would enable courts to decide upon to date competencies of misdemeanor bodies or provide for transition of misdemeanor bodies to the misdemeanor courts, composed of judges elected by the Judicial Council.
