Retraining Lawyers in Human Rights in Transition Countries of SEE

The project Retraining Lawyers in Human Rights in Transition Countries of South-East Europe was implemented from 2003 to 2009, within which over a thousand judges, prosecutors and lawyers from government and non-governmental organizations participated in 40 regional seminars. A book “The Right to a Fair Trial – Selected Judgments of the European Court of Human Rights in Cases against Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Slovenia and Serbia” was published within the project.

The project was funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway, through the Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA) in Belgrade. On this project Human Rights Action cooperated with the Belgrade Centre for Human Rights, the Croatian Helsinki Committee for Human Rights, the Human Rights Centre of the Sarajevo University and later Legalise from Zagreb and the Forum Centre for Strategic Research and Documentation from Skopje.
