22/ 01/ 2013 Montenegrin Red Cross Donation to the Homeless Shelter

We wish to express our gratitude to the Red Cross of Montenegro for providing help to a temporary Homeless Shelter established by the Human Rights Action on 1 January 2013 for a period of three months, with the support of the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare, which provided funds for the majority of costs for the Shelter.

Red Cross donation included blankets, pillows and bed sheets (ten sets, which is the Shelter’s capacity), as well as footwear and clothing for the homeless, which have significantly improved the quality of life for the eight residents currently placed at the Shelter.

The Red Cross also donated food and hygiene supplies, which is a valuable contribution to a modest budget allocated for this purpose.

HRA is especially grateful to the Red Cross of Montenegro for its willingness to continue supporting Human Rights Action in efforts to provide better living conditions to the Homeless Shelter residents.

On this occasion HRA wishes to once again appeal to the citizens able to, primarily, donate food for the Shelter, but also clothing and hygiene items in accordance with their capabilities.
