Today, we have received the official notification and the record of the RTCG Council from the session when they discussed our request to mark the nineteenth anniversary of the siege of Dubrovnik by broadcasting the movie “War for Piece” by the author Koča Pavlović. The Council has decided as follows:
“if it is possible, to find a form to broadcast the movie and within a year to produce five television opened forms on facing the war past issue, where participants from social, academic and political environment will take part, followed with production and broadcast of additional materials that encourage the process. It is recommended to the television editorial board to have a common notification that will be read, when the serial broadcast starts, in which RTCG will apologize to all of the citizens for its role during the war years”

We consider that the broadcast of the movie »War for Piece« by author Koča Pavlović and an appropriate discussion would be of public interest for facing the past in Montenegro, that controversial contracted relations between the author and the Television should be put in front of the court or be resolved on some other way, and that the movie should be finally broadcasted so that the public could judge on its own.
We entirely support the decision of the Council that the Television of Montenegro to have, within a year, several shows about facing the war past issues being produced, especially about war crimes in which citizens of Montenegro took part in any form. We will propose to the Television editorial board to provide the projection of documentaries and additional informative discussions dealing with war crimes, especially in Dobrovnik, Štrpci, Bukovica, Kaluđerski laz, army prison Lora in Split and others.
Concerning the recommendation for apology, we think that it should be addressed to all the citizens of Montenegro, as well as to all citizens of Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, which have bared the consequences of war propaganda of Radio and Television of Montenegro.
Sincerely,
