18/ 02/ 2013 Presentation of the final report on respect for human rights of patients placed in psychiatric institutions

Human Rights Action (HRA), in cooperation with Center for Anti-Discrimination “EQUISTA”, Center for Civic Education (CCE), and Women’s Safe House on 18 February 2013 presented the assessment on the fulfillment of recommendations presented in the report: Respect for human rights of patients placed in psychiatric institutions (the report is available here).

At the presentation spoke Ms. Tea Gorjanc Prelević, HRA Executive Director and Project Coordinator, Ms. Dawn Adie-Baird, Deputy Head of Operations section of the EU Delegation to Montenegro, Mr. Mensud Grbović, Deputy Minister of Health, Mr. Aleksandar Tomčuk, director of the Special Psychiatric Hospital in Dobrota, Ms. Slavica Rabrenovic, Deputy Minister of Justice, Ms. Remzija Ademović, Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Care. The findings of the assessment on the fulfilment of 61 recommendations (including 25 CPT’s recommendations and 6 recommendations of the Protector of Human Rights and Freedoms of Montenegro) were presented by Ms. Mirjana Radović and Mr. Danilo Ajković, NGO monitoring team members.
