28/3/2012 Request for information from the Supreme State Prosecutor (SSP) on action taken to investigate reports on maltreatment in the Maternity Ward of the Clinical Centre of Montenegro

Following a series of articles published in the begining of March 2012 in Dnevne novine, where women who gave birth in the maternity ward of the Clinical Centre of Montenegro in Podgorica reported concerning information on maltreatment and other abuse by the health workers, Human Rights Action (HRA) asked the  Supreme State Prosecutors (SSP) on measures her office has undertaken to investigate those reports, considering that noone from the prosecutor’s office reported anything on the case to date.HRA insists on eradicating impunity for violation of human rights, which includes effective and timely investigation especially of allegations pointing to maltreatment the state officers.

The letter to the SSP is available only in Montenegrin language.
