The Human Rights Action (HRA) is deeply dissapointed with the Parliment of Montenegro’s failiure to adopt the Law on Same Sex Life Partnership yesterday.

In Montenegro, unfortunately, it is not yet recognized that all people have the right to a dignified life with the person they love.

Those who did not vote for this law had no right to deny others the rights they enjoy. Such behavior is selfish and damages the public interest of protecting human rights.

It is particularly devastating that national minority parties, whose representatives voted against this law, are not in solidarity with other minorities, which is a sensibility shown by minorities in some other countries.
