17/11/2016 COMPLAINT FILED WITH THE COUNCIL FOR CIVIL CONTROL OF POLICE FOR TREATMENT OF POLICE OFFICERS DURING INFORMATIVE INTERVIEW WITH MS. PATRICIA POBRIĆ

Human Rights Action (HRA) today filed complaint (in Montenegrin) to the Council for Civil Control of Police on the conduct of police officers of the Security Centre in Podgorica during the informative interview with Ms. Patricia Pobrić on 17 October 2016.

Ms. Pobrić claims that the Police did not inform her of her right to come to the interview with a lawyer, she was not given a copy of the minutes of the interview, although she asked for it, she was not informed about who interviewed her. She further alleges that it was not necessary for her to spend three full hours answering same questions and that she was worried about the fact the police knew what sport her children were training and who their coach was.

Described conduct of the police is contrary to Article 259 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, which regulates “the collection of information from citizens” by the police. The Council has been asked also to examine how the police obtained information from private life of Ms. Pobrić and her children.
